How to wash your bajoue clothing ?
How to wash your Bajoue clothing to keep them in good condition? Our customers often ask us this question. That's why we decided to write a blog featuring our tips and tricks. These have been tested and approved on our little Bajoues!
General maintenance
The Bajoue clothes are resistant and suit the active lifestyle of little Bajoues. The basic tip for ensuring their durability is to wash in cold water and lay flat to dry. We religiously test every fabric in the worst washing conditions, but still, it's best to be careful to avoid any disappointment.
It is without saying that our “Grow With Me” clothes will be worn and washed more than a "normal" garment. We therefore wanted to offer you solutions that will allow you to preserve the shine of your “Grow With Me” Bajoue clothes over time.
Washing tips
1. Sort out your clothes
The sorting step is often neglected, yet very important. Some colored clothes may lose their color (mainly in the first wash) on lighter clothes. This is why white clothes turn gray over time.
Tip: If something goes wrong and one clothing item loses its color on top of another, soak your clothing piece in milk for more or less 2 days and it could miraculously save your stained piece.
Watch out for zippers! Close all the zippers or even better, avoid washing them with more fragile clothes.
Also, watch out for small rocks that end up in your children's pockets. These can damage your clothes and the washing machine.
2. Wash your precious “Grow With Me” clothes inside out
Why? Because the repeated movements of the washing machine tend to wear out and destroy the textile fibers. Using a protective bag for more fragile pieces can be very effective in reducing this friction between textiles.
Also, simply by turning your clothes inside out when washing, the inside of the garment will be exposed to friction. The colors and patterns on your baby clothes will be spared. Your ”Grow With Me” pants, rompers and sweaters will see their lifespan lengthen. Using a protective bag for more fragile pieces can be very effective in providing optimal protection.
Tips: Note that our culture ensures that we usually wash our clothes every time they are worn. As washing is a step that wears out the garment, keep in mind that it is possible to skip washes if your piece is not stained! You can hang it outside or even put it in the dryer for a few minutes to recover its fresh smell and to smooth it out.
If on a beautiful summer day you feel the urge to lay your pieces on the clothesline, we strongly recommend that you turn your clothes inside out to avoid fading caused by the sun's rays.
3. Wash your bajoue “Grow With Me” clothes with cold water
Why cold water? Because it's just as effective as a hot water wash. In addition, it allows colors to stay more vivid and protects delicate fabrics. Basically, cold water will extend the life of your ”Grow With Me” clothes made with love in Canada!
Let's not forget that washing with cold water also saves on electricity costs!
4. Oxyclean will become your best friend
Here at Bajoue, we swear by this little miracle powder which allows us to find our pieces intact. Obviously, this product has its limits, but in the majority of cases it works well on our clothes. We put the stained garment in the mixture of water and powder and let it soak for a few days. This technique is not foolproof, but it has proven itself time and time again!
So there you have it, you are now ready to take care of your “Grow With Me” Bajoue clothes! Obviously, these are not the “perfect” washing tips. Since nothing is perfect, you can also do like us and slip them in the dryer every now and then!
If you have any tips to share with us and other moms reading this blog, we invite you to do so by posting a comment!
